ATV’s Recovered and Arrests made

Arrest made in ATV thefts from CR 10 in the Stringer area as well as from CR 13 in the Louin area. Three arrest have been made in connection with the thefts on CR 10 in Stringer Community, Burriel Sumrall from Jasper County, Michael Dillian McWilliams, and Donnie D. Jefcoat both from Jones County. A warrant has also been issued for Robert Crews of Jones County in connection with this case.
One arrest has been made in connection with the theft on CR 13, in the Louin Community. Shon L. Johnson of Newton County has been arrested and a warrant has been issued for David McIntosh of Newton County. Sumrall, McWilliams and Johnson remain in Jasper County jail and Jefcoat has been picked up and transferred to the Jones County Adult Detention Facility.

McCurdy arrested on multiple charges

On January 15,2019 Jasper County Deputies arrested Channing McCurdy for sale of a controlled substance. A search was conducted at McCurdy’s home and the land around his residence. During the search approximately 3 ounces of cocaine, and approximately 1  pound of marijuana were discovered along with a stolen firearm and approximately $13,100 was seized. McCurdy is facing multiple charges including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Bond will be set by Judge Marvin Jones at a later date.

Drug arrest

On Thursday, January 10th at approximately 6:15pm, a Deputy made a traffic stop on Hwy 528 in Bay Springs. During this traffic stop, approximately three pounds of marijuana was discovered. Justin Lee Patterson and Shatoria Monique Porter were both arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, tampering with evidence and trafficking of controlled substance. Both are being held in the Jasper County jail and their bond will be set at a later date by Judge Marvin Jones.
