On 11-04-2019, at approximately, 9 AM Heidelberg Police Chief, Huey Powe received a call about a suspicious red vehicle at a residence on CR 820 located outside the city limits. Chief Powe responded with the home owner to the residence and noticed that the front door appeared to have been kicked open. The Sheriff’s Department was notified by Chief Powe about what he discovered at the residence. The Sheriff’s Department received a call about a one vehicle accident on CR 359 involving a red car. Chief Powe and deputies arrived at the accident scene and were notified by Denbury employees and employees of a service company that a black male was seen on the pipeline a short distance from the accident scene. Chief Powe took the male into custody and Deputy Dewayne Hawkins apprehend another male suspect a short distance from the scene. Property taken from the residence on CR 820 was recovered from the vehicle and in a wooded area near the accident scene. Both suspects were checked by ASAP Ambulance Service before being transported to JCSO. Thanks to all departments involved, and to the citizens for helping apprehend these suspects.
